MEET SERENA

Hospitality is part of my story.

I’m Serena, founder of Simply Serene Event Co. Hospitality has been part of my family’s life since 1936, and part of mine for as long as I can remember. I grew up on the grounds of Birch Hill Catering and Stablegate Farm, watching the work that went into each celebration long before I had a role in it myself.

Over time, I worked my way through serving, bartending, and managing on the floor. I learned to see an event from different perspectives: what guests need, what the team needs, and how much care goes into making everything feel effortless. It’s where I developed the hands-on approach I still bring to my work today.

FINDING MY OWN WAY

In my mid-twenties, I moved into wedding coordination and social media management. I loved bringing plans together and capturing the moments that followed, but getting to know my clients was what made the work personal. Once I understood what mattered to them, I wanted to help take care of it.

That carried into my time on Birch Hill’s sales team. My involvement often stretched beyond the role itself because I cared about how the whole experience felt. I wanted my clients to have someone they could call, someone who knew their plans and would take the time to work through a question with them. Becoming that resource led me toward full planning and rental sourcing, giving me more ways to help from the beginning.

A FAMILY LEGACY. A PERSONAL NEXT CHAPTER.

My father, a chef trained at the Culinary Institute of America, poured his passion into the culinary side of Birch Hill. When he decided to retire, I began thinking about what my own next chapter could look like—and how I could continue the work and relationships I had put so much of myself into.

That’s where
Simply Serene began.

THE CARE I BRING TO YOUR DAY

It brings together everything I’ve learned through years in my family’s business and the way I’ve always cared for my clients: being involved, following through, and paying attention to the things that matter to them. It’s an opportunity to carry that care into celebrations wherever they choose to gather.

I know how much thought, time, and feeling goes into a day like this. I take that to heart. From our first conversations to the work happening behind the scenes, I want you to feel that someone is looking out for you, your family, and your guests.

For me, hospitality has always been personal.
